Anchoring vehicle fit-outs
Anchoring a fit-out in a vehicle has two layers. The clamping slot along the full length of the aluminium profile allows you to add shelves, drawers, handles and your own accessories anywhere on the structure. The whole structure is anchored to the vehicle body by drilling into its reinforced parts, in line with type-approval requirements.
Clamping slot along the full length of the profile
Every aluminium profile in our system has a clamping slot along its full length. Thanks to it, shelving units, drawers, handles and your own accessories can be anchored anywhere on the structure, without having to drill into the profile again for every change. Slots you do not use can be covered with a cover strip, for example in a different colour, so that the structure looks finished.
Anchoring the structure to the vehicle body
We anchor the fit-out structure to the reinforced parts of the vehicle body, namely the side panels and floor. Installation therefore includes drilling into these parts, always in line with type-approval requirements. This is standard practice and fine from a type-approval standpoint.
Why do we not rely on the original anchor points? We adapt the fit-out entirely to the millimetre to the customer's tools, cases and ideas, so the vehicle's original points cannot be built on. Category N1 vans also generally have very few original anchor points.
Anchoring elements and sets
You will find specific anchoring elements and sets directly with the fit-outs in the catalogue.
Installation
Installation is an optional service. We can carry out the anchoring in Prague, in Slavičín or directly at your premises, or you can anchor the structure yourself; the decision is yours.
The same principles for every type of fit-out
Anchoring follows the same principles for shelving units, pull-outs and floors. What each type looks like is shown in the categories Vehicle shelving units, Made-to-measure pull-outs for vans and Floors and load platforms.
What can be changed later
When your equipment changes, the fit-out is rebuilt: you will find new places for shelves, drawers and other elements in the slots, without having to drill into the profile.
Frequently asked questions
Does anchoring mean drilling into the vehicle body?
Yes. Anchoring the structure to the vehicle body requires drilling into its reinforced parts; vans have very few original anchor points, and a made-to-measure fit-out does not use them anyway. This is standard practice and complies with type-approval requirements.
Do you also drill into the aluminium profiles for every modification?
No. The profiles have a clamping slot along their full length, so you can add shelves, drawers and your own accessories anywhere without any further drilling into the profile.
Why can't the vehicle's original anchor points be used?
Because the fit-out is adapted to the millimetre to the customer's tools, cases and wishes, the original anchor points cannot be used. On category N1 vans there are, in addition, very few of them.
Where is the structure anchored?
Into the reinforced parts of the vehicle body, that is, the side panels and the floor.
Can I anchor the fit-out myself?
Yes, installation is an optional service and you can install the structure yourself. If you would like to leave it to us, we will arrange it in Prague, in Slavičín or directly at your site.
