Vehicle shelving units

We build vehicle shelving units from the modular aluminium kit, which we have adapted into a shelving storage system for vans and commercial vehicles. You can choose a ready-made example assembly in the e-shop, or select entirely free dimensions to measure in the form of a custom fit-out.

We have supplied fit-outs and conversions on a turnkey basis since 2009, and since 2019 we have used our own storage system, in which, if damaged, only the individual shelf part is replaced rather than the whole shelf.

An aluminium kit instead of a fixed shelving unit

With us, a vehicle shelving unit is assembled from aluminium profiles in three sizes – 30, 40 and 45. Every profile has a clamping slot along its full length, into which shelves, drawers, handles and your own accessories can be anchored anywhere on the structure. The structure can be extended at any point with another shelving unit or just a profile on its own, and we are not limited by any standard size ranges.

The shelving unit is therefore not a finished product with fixed dimensions. Every part can be moved, enlarged, added or left out so that the assembly fits your cases and tools, and you can change it at any time later.

Which types of shelving units you will find in the category

  • Euro box shelving unit – column-based structure with tiers for 400×300 mm Euro boxes; you choose the number and heights of the boxes according to what you carry.
  • Euro box pull-out system – aluminium pull-out frames with spring-loaded locking that adapt to any crate.
  • Steel drawers for vehicles – steel drawers with a catch where you need a higher load capacity than with lighter pull-outs.
  • Case storage – storage adapted to the millimetre to the large and small cases you actually carry.
  • Universal shelving unit – clamping shelves, organiser shelves, tub shelves and shelves with fold-down doors.

Where the shelving unit goes in the vehicle

A side shelving unit runs along the left or right wall of the load space. A shelving unit behind the cab stands directly behind the bulkhead that separates the cab from the load space; unlike side shelving units, in some vehicles it has no upper block, and a lower block comes into consideration instead. The height of the assembly is limited by the vehicle's rear loading opening: the shelving unit is loaded into the vehicle through the rear doors and has to fit through them.

Examples of use

The shelving unit is assembled according to what each person carries. An electrician needs organisers and small cases for relatively light material, a plumber sorts pipes, fittings and seals, and anyone working with heavier tools reaches for steel drawers. What the fit-outs for individual trades look like is shown in the categories Van fit-outs for electricians and Van fit-outs for plumbers.

Installation and anchoring

Installing the shelving unit is an optional service. You can order it from us or assemble the shelving unit yourself; anyone who wants installation gets it in Prague, in Slavičín or directly at their own premises.

During installation, drilling is done into the reinforced parts of the vehicle body, namely the side panels and floor, in line with type-approval requirements. Vans generally have very few original anchor points, and a shelving unit built to the millimetre around your tools would not use them anyway. You will find details in the category Anchoring vehicle fit-outs.

Ready-made assembly or custom order

The kit can be assembled from example assemblies directly in the e-shop, or you can choose entirely free dimensions made to measure as a custom fit-out, for example for the Mercedes Sprinter, Ford Transit, Fiat Ducato, Renault Trafic, VW Crafter and others. If you are looking for a solution for the whole vehicle including the floor, pull-outs and anchoring, see the parent category Van and car fit-outs.

How to choose

  1. Decide what you carry in the vehicle: Euro boxes, crates on pull-outs, heavier equipment, cases or mixed contents.
  2. Choose the shelving unit type from the overview above accordingly, or ask us which one suits.
  3. Select a ready-made example assembly for your vehicle, or send a hand-drawn sketch or a description of a custom fit-out.
  4. For a custom order you will first see the design as a 3D model and can have it modified until it matches your ideas.

Frequently asked questions

Do I have to choose from ready-made assemblies, or can the shelving unit be made to measure?
Both: you can order the example assembly from the e-shop straight away, and if you need different dimensions, we will build a custom shelving unit to your requirements.

What happens if one part of the shelving unit is damaged?
Only the damaged shelf part is replaced, not the whole shelf. As a result, you pay for the repair of just one component instead of a new shelf.

How tall a shelving unit can be built into a vehicle?
The main limit is the rear loading opening of the vehicle: the unit is loaded through the rear doors, so it has to fit through them. We therefore always design the specific height to suit your vehicle.

Can the shelving unit be extended later or fitted with your own elements?
Yes. Every profile has a clamping slot along its entire length, so you can extend the structure at any point with another shelving unit or just a profile, and you can also add your own elements to it yourself.

Does installing the shelving unit involve drilling into the vehicle body?
Yes. Drilling is done into the reinforced parts of the vehicle body, in line with type-approval requirements; the original anchor points are not used for custom shelving units.

Which type of shelving unit is right for me?
It depends on what you carry. You sort Euro boxes in the Euro box shelving unit or in the pull-out system, heavier equipment goes into steel drawers, cases have their own separate storage, and the universal shelving unit combines shelves of different kinds. We will advise you during the design.
