Protective floors and wall linings

Floor

A protective floor shields the sheet metal from falling heavy objects, from dragging across the floor and from moisture. A good floor is non-slip so that cargo does not slide on it, resistant to water and easy to sweep. It is usually made of film-faced plywood with a non-slip surface and can also serve as a base for anchoring the fit-out.

Wall lining

Lining the side panels and doors protects the sheet metal from dents and at the same time creates a flat surface that is easy to anchor to. Lightweight lining does not take up much space and does not add weight.

When lining makes sense, also with regard to selling the vehicle

A protected space holds the value of the vehicle. When selling it or returning it from a lease, there is a difference between an undamaged and a scratched cargo area. Documenting the condition of the vehicle with photographs on takeover and on handover is always worthwhile. A removable fit-out that leaves no unplugged holes behind has an advantage when the vehicle is returned.
