Structure assembly

How to physically assemble a structure made of aluminium profiles designed in 3D once the profiles and fasteners arrive. Below you will find what a joint consists of, step-by-step assembly instructions and the rules for accessories.

What a single joint looks like

Every joint between two profiles consists of three parts: the end face of one profile (with a cut thread), the wall of the other profile (with a through hole) and the connecting screw, which passes through the hole and is screwed into the thread. It is tightened with a hex key through the hole.

Assembly procedure

  1. Slide the screw head into the T-slot before putting the parts together. Once the profiles are joined, the screw can no longer get into the closed slot from behind.
  2. Place the parts with the end face exactly against the wall, following the 3D preview of your design. The end of the profile sits with its whole surface against the neighbouring profile, without overhang.
  3. Push the screw through the hole in the second profile and screw it into the thread or nut in the slot of the first profile.
  4. Tighten with a hex key of the appropriate size.

The same procedure applies both to an end-to-end joint and to a joint into the middle of the side of the neighbouring profile. In both cases it is one screw and one joint.

Accessories

End caps and end covers are simply pushed on or snapped on, without tools. Adjustable feet, wheels and other parts are screwed into the end face of the profile via the internal thread. You can fine-tune the height or position even after the structure has been assembled.

Profile compatibility

Profiles can be joined directly only within the same slot series (6, 8 or 10 mm). Check the specific compatibility of your profiles against their dimensions in the catalogue.

Assembly is an optional service. You can have us assemble the structure or put it together yourself following these instructions.

Frequently asked questions

What does a joint between two profiles consist of?
The end face of one profile with a cut thread, the wall of the second profile with a through hole, and a connecting screw that passes through the hole and is screwed into the thread.

What are the joints tightened with?
With a hex key of the appropriate size, through the hole in the profile wall.

Why do I have to slide the screw into the slot before putting the parts together?
Because once the profiles are fitted together, the screw can no longer be inserted into the closed slot from behind.

How are end caps, feet and castors fitted?
End caps and covers are simply pushed on or snapped in, without tools. Feet, castors and other parts are screwed into the end face of the profile via the internal thread, and you can fine-tune their height or position even after assembly.

Can profiles with different slot sizes be joined?
Not directly. Profiles can only be joined within the same slot series (6, 8 or 10 mm); check compatibility against the profile dimensions in the catalogue.

Can the structure be assembled without your help?
Yes. Assembly is an optional service; you can build the structure yourself following this guide.
