Maintenance and checks

The fit-out is sturdy, but it is not something to leave unattended. A few simple habits will extend its life and keep it safe.

• After the first few weeks. Check that the screws are tight and the fixings secure. Joints can settle after the first load.
• Regularly. Check the fixing of the structure to the vehicle body, and the condition of the pull-outs, catches and locks. Fit-out manufacturers usually recommend checks at set intervals according to kilometres driven and after exceptional loading.
• After emergency braking or an accident. Check the whole structure, especially the anchoring and joints. Even if nothing appears damaged, deformation may have occurred. If in any doubt, have the assembly inspected.
• Cleaning. Smooth surfaces only need wiping down, and boxes can be taken out and washed. Keep the pull-outs clean of dust and dirt that could restrict movement.
• Locks and moving parts. Watch whether the drawers slide in and the catch engages. At the first sign of sticking, find the cause.
• Load. Do not overload individual pull-outs and shelves, and store heavy items low. An evenly distributed load is every structure's friend.

Thanks to our construction of pull-out frames, when one part is damaged only that part is replaced, not the whole shelf.

New vehicle, resale, lease return and extension

Moving to a new vehicle

Modular kits can be dismantled and, after modification, used in a new vehicle, especially if the new vehicle is of the same type. A fit-out made to the millimetre for one specific model is usually transferable only to a vehicle of the same model and version. When choosing a fit-out it is therefore worth considering whether you will be changing vehicles, and choosing between a made-to-measure fit-out and a kit accordingly.

Selling a vehicle with a fit-out

A fit-out can raise the value of a vehicle for a buyer who will use it, or lower it when the buyer does not want it. Good documentation and a clean finish help. If you want the fit-out removed, we will dismantle the structure and properly plug the anchoring holes.

Returning a leased vehicle

Leasing companies inspect the condition of the cargo area. We recommend photographic documentation of the condition at handover and at return. A removable fit-out with a protective floor and lining protects the sheet metal and helps when returning the vehicle. The specific conditions are always set by the lease agreement.

Extensions and changes

Because every profile has a clamping slot along its entire length, the assembly can be supplemented or changed at any time: add a shelf, drawer, handle, holder, hook panel or vice without rebuilding the whole structure. In two years' time you will not know exactly what you need, which is why it pays to have a structure that can be changed. You can buy add-ons, or entrust their professional installation to us.

Vehicle fleet

Once designed, a fit-out can be reused for the same vehicle type. As a result all the vehicles have the same layout, which makes driver training, servicing and replacement of parts easier.
